Reaching the village of Galaxidi is simple
Galaxidi may be reached by bus or taxi from
Athens and Patra. You can get to Athens easily by plane, while Patra can be reached via ferry from the main ports of the Adriatic Sea (e.g. from the Italian ports of Venice, Ancona and Bari).

Greece, and then travel to Galaxidi by bus.
Bus
From Athens to Galaxidi:
Buses from Athens to Galaxidi leave from the Liosion Bus Station (also known as Terminal B).
Make sure that you don’t go to Terminal A which is also known as the Kifisos Bus Station, as no bus gets to Galaxidi from there.

The bus from the Athens Liosion Bus Station to the village of Itea (17 km from Galaxidi) takes about 3.5 hours. In Itea you will get another bus to Galaxidi - a short ride. Please make sure that you tell the driver that you must stop in Galaxidi otherwise he might carry on without stopping there. Total cost for the whole trip is 16.80 Euro (one-way). The time-table is as follows:
Athens to Galaxidi:
Leg 1: From Athens (Liosion Bus Station) to Itea 7:30*, 10:30*, 13:00, 17:30
Leg 2: From Itea to Galaxidi 6:00, 11:20*, 14:30*, 16:45, 21:00

Galaxidi to Athens:
Leg 1: From Galaxidi (Platia Heroon) to Itea 7:00, 9:45*, 12:30, 14:45, 16:46

There are Express Airport Bus connections with the Athens centre on a 24-hour basis. Buses leave the airport terminal approximately every 30 minutes. To reach the Liosion Bus Station from the airport take the bus route X93 (price: 3.20 Euro): Athens Airport - Kifisos Intercity Bus Station. Get off at the Liosion Bus Station.
For those who prefer to stay in Athens overnight, catching a bus from the airport to central Athens is easy. Before you leave the terminal, pick up a brochure showing the various routes and bus numbers. They are free and plentiful at the numerous plexiglas display units. Bus tickets can only be purchased from the small blue/yellow kiosk just outside of the terminal doors. Theoretically, bus drivers also sell the tickets, but that is not always the case. At the airport take Exit 5 and turn left to buy your ticket at the kiosk. The bus stops are next to it.
Caution: If you get caught without a ticket, you will be fined with an amount 60 times the cost of the ticket. If you forget to validate your ticket, the same penalty applies.
From central Athens, the Liosion Bus Station can be reached by Bus 024, which leaves from Leoforos Amalias, in front of the National Garden (Syntagma Square).
From Patra to Galaxidi:
The bus station (Tel. +30 2610 274938) is located on the adjoining road as you get out of the port.
The trip from Patra to Galaxidi by bus takes about 2 hours. Please make sure that you tell the driver that you must stop in Galaxidi otherwise he might carry on without stopping there. Total cost for the trip is 9.00 Euro (one-way). The time-table is as follows:
From Patra to Galaxidi: 12:30*, 18:00
From Galaxidi to Patra: 6:20*, 14:50

Taxi
A faster and more comfortable way to reach Galaxidi from Athens or Patra, although obviously more expensive, is to take a taxi.
