Study areas

Tethys
has been active since 1986 in several areas around the world.
At
present,
most activities take place in the Mediterranean Sea, particularly in the context
of long-term research
projects conducted in the Ligurian,
Ionian and Adriatic Seas.
The main bases of Tethys include:
Office at the Milan Aquarium, Italy
Management of the Tethys Research Institute
Cetacean Sanctuary Research
Field
station in Vonitsa, Greece
Ionian Dolphin Project: Amvrakikos Gulf, Inner Ionian Sea Archipelago
Field
station in Galaxidi, Greece
Ionian Dolphin Project: Gulf of Corinth
Tethys collaborators are scattered across Italy, Greece and other European countries. While there is rarely a single place where all Tethys researchers can be found at once, some of them may happen to be clustered at offices and field stations in Italy and Greece or be together on a boat at sea.
Several researchers of Tethys work from home, having turned parts of their house into office/laboratory/library. They keep in touch with colleagues and the outer world through email, skype and telephone. |
